Why it matters to you
An abbreviation register looks trivial until two teams use the same letters for different things. In a robustness pack, AI, ML, NN, OOD, TEVV, SUT and a dozen project codes can each mean two things. The clause title tells you the document keeps a list; the work is to keep one too, with a source for every expansion. Aligning it with 22989 and 23053 stops a local shorthand from becoming a definition by accident.
Evidence a reviewer asks for
- The abbreviation register, one row per term, with the expansion and the source.
- A note on any abbreviation used locally that the FDIS may not define.
- The version and owner of the register.
- The mapping to the terms used in the risk register and the test plan.
Checks to run this month
- Does every abbreviation in the pack have one expansion?
- Is any abbreviation used with two meanings?
- Does the register cite 22989 or 23053 where the term comes from there?
